Year 2: We’re Building Something Bigger
After launching the Beer League World Championships in 2025, we’re back for Year 2 in Tampa Bay.
The long-term vision remains the same: build this into one of the biggest beer league hockey weekends in North America, eventually taking over the entire facility with hockey, vendors, food, entertainment, and everything that makes beer league hockey what it is.
This is more than just another tournament. The Beer League World Championships also supports the Puck10 Project, our registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, allowing the weekend to combine competitive beer league hockey with fundraising that supports the hockey community.
Teams that get involved now are helping us continue building this event into something much bigger.
Why Tampa Bay?
- Incredible multi-sheet hockey facility
- Multiple hotels nearby
- Huge parking area with plenty of room for the tournament atmosphere
- Approximately 30 minutes from the beach
- About an hour from Disney and Universal
- Busch Gardens nearby
- Hockey inside, Florida outside
Tournament Highlights
- 3-game guarantee
- Championship game for the top two teams in each division
- Competitive divisions: Ringer, Hero and Bender
- Strict no-sandbagging policy
- Custom tournament jerseys included
- Schedule preference based on when your team completes its fundraising requirement
BLPA tournaments are built around the player experience. Competitive hockey matters, but so does making sure everyone has a great weekend.
And as always, the most important rule is:
Don’t Be a Dick.
Team Registration and Fundraising
The Cost Structure
There is not a separate tournament fee plus fundraising requirement.
The tournament is structured as:
$300 team deposit
PLUS
$200 raised by every player on your roster
That is the total participation structure for the event.
Example
If your team has 11 players:
- $300 team deposit
- 11 players x $200 fundraising requirement = $2,200
Total team requirement: $2,500
If your team has 12 players:
- $300 team deposit
- 12 players x $200 fundraising requirement = $2,400
Total team requirement: $2,700
The $200 per player is not added on top of another team entry fee.
How Fundraising Works
Each player receives access to the team’s RallyUp fundraising campaign and is responsible for raising $200.
Players can raise the money themselves, have friends and family contribute, or seek support from businesses and sponsors.
Because the Puck10 Project is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, eligible donations made through the fundraising campaign can receive the appropriate charitable documentation.
The team is responsible for making sure its full fundraising requirement is completed before the tournament.
Raise More. Win the BLPA Party Room.
Teams are encouraged to keep fundraising after reaching their required amount.
The team that raises the most money above its required fundraising total will receive exclusive use of the BLPA Party Room for the weekend.
That means:
- Keep your gear in the same locker room all weekend
- No hauling bags in and out after every game
- Let your equipment actually dry between games
- Access to the legendary BLPA Magic Ice Chest
Raise the most. Own the room.
Be Part of Year 2
Year One proved the concept.
Year Two is about growing it.
Our goal is to continue adding teams, improving the experience, raising more money for the Puck10 Project, and moving closer to a full-facility beer league hockey weekend in Tampa Bay.
Bring your team and be part of what we’re building.
